MTD Capital Bhd (MTD) is an investment holding company with core businesses in civil engineering and construction, infrastructure development, property development and the manufacturing of construction related materials.
MTD was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 27 January 1994 and was subsequently transferred to the Main Board in December 1998.
Under the Group, there are three Main Board-listed companies - MTD InfraPerdana Bhd (MTD Infra), Metacorp Berhad (Metacorp) and MTD ACPI Engineering Berhad (MTD ACPI).
Infrastructure development is under MTD Infra’s wholly owned subsidiary MTD Prime Sdn Bhd, which is the concessionaire for the Kuala Lumpur - Karak Highway (KLK) and its extension, the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (ECE1). The 60 km KLK is the main access road connecting the Klang Valley and Karak Town while the 174 km ECE 1 begins from Karak to Jabor. Eventually, the ECE will form a seamless connection between the Klang Valley and the state of Terengganu upon completion of ECE Phase 2.
Another subsidiary Metramac Corporation Sdn Bhd (Metramac) holds the concession for the East-West Link Expressway and the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway.
Property development is spearheaded by 79.2% subsidiary, Metacorp, through its subsidiaries Metacorp Properties Sdn Bhd, developer of the flagship project – the 742-acre integrated township Taman Tasik Utama in Ayer Keroh, Melaka; and landbank of 1,015 acres in Metacorp Development Sdn Bhd. Another subsidiary, Modal Ehsan Sdn Bhd is the developer of the 160-acre Taman Sutera in Kajang. Meanwhile, the Group’s first high end residential project in the Klang Valley is undertaken by Landview Towers Sdn Bhd. The Group’s investment property arm, Exclusive Skycity Sdn Bhd is the owner of Bangunan Shell in Kuala Lumpur. Metacorp is also involved in quarry and solid waste management via subsidiary Dimensi Timal Sdn Bhd and 50%-owned unit E-Idaman Sdn Bhd respectively.
MTD ACPI now helms the engineering & construction, and manufacturing of precast concrete division of the Group. It has more than 20 years track record in the construction on mountain roads, highways, bridges, building geotechnical works, erosion control and highway maintenance. It is also involved in the manufacturing of precast concrete products for infrastructure and buildings; and property development.
Besides Malaysia, the Group is also actively participating in overseas projects including Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. MTD is also a member of a Malaysian-led consortium that has been awarded a 30-year highway concession in Andhra Pradesh, India.
