AlloyMtd unveils Laguna regional centre

AlloyMtd president and CEO Datuk Azmil Khalid says the group will continue to emphasise infrastructure development in the Philippines and make a long-term investment in the region.

INFRASTRUCTURE conglomerate AlloyMtd Group has launched the RM187.89 million Phase 1 of the Philipines’ first ever one-stop-shop government centre called the Calabarzon Regional Government Centre (CRGC) in Laguna.

The CRGC is a joint-venture (JV) project undertaken by MTD Philippines Inc and the Colombo City.

The project that will house at least 54 government agencies in the Calabarzon region is the first ever project under the public-private partnership scheme with a local government.

AlloyMtd Group, through its subsidiary MTD Philippines, is responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance the regional facility for 30 years.

The centre comprises four blocks of five-storey buildings in a 3ha complex that would integrate the regional offices of the government in Region 4A.

AlloyMtd Group president and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Azmil Khalid said the group is committed to delivering more RGCs in the Philippines.

“AlloyMtd Group is ready to invest at least RM772 million to finance and develop other regional centres as well as redevelopment of existing provincial or city government centres in the Philippines through joint ventures with local governments,” he said.

Azmil, who is also the Malaysian Philippines Business Council chairman, said the group will continue to emphasise on infrastructure development of the country as well as making it a long-term investment in the region.

Meanwhile, AlloyMtd together with Neuva Ecija provincial government also launched another regional government business centre in Palayan City in the Philippines called Palayan City Business Hub.

A JV agreement was endorsed between MTD Philippines and the Palayan City, followed by a ground-breaking ceremony of the RM115 million business hub.
