MTD Construction Sdn Bhd (MTDC) was incorporated on 31 March 1980. MTDC is one of the subsidiary companies under the MTD Group. MTDC started its business in 1980. It quickly gained impressive expertise in designing and constructing mountainous roads, handling geotechnical works, erosion control, and highway maintenance. Specifically, it worked on projects such as the East West Highway (Gerik to Jeli), KL Karak Highway, East Coast Highway Phase 1 (from Karak to Kuantan), East Coast Expressway Phase 2 (from Bukit Besi to Bukit Payung Spur Road), and various road upgrades in Peninsular Malaysia.

MTDC also was involved with three major Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) road upgrading / improvements projects such as Jalan Cheras / Taman Len Seng Interchanges, Jalan Cheras / Taman Segar Interchanges and upgrading / improvement of Jalan Loke Yew.

MTDC has completed Package 10 of the East Coast Expressway Phase 2 from Bukit Besi to Bukit Payung with a distance of 78.75km on a design and build basis valued at RM 1.4 billion. Package 10 is one of the packages under ECE Phase 2, which includes a 174km implementation by the Federal Government from Jabor to Gemuruh. MTDC has also completed Package C of PLUS 4th Lane Widening from Rawang to Sg. Buloh, valued at RM303,159,107.97, and the KVMRTV7 Project: Jajaran Sungai Buloh – Kajang, from Bandar Tun Hussein Onn to Taman Mesra, valued at RM499,980,104.78. MTDC has recently completed the MRT Line 2: Package V208 from Taman Pinggiran Putra to Persiaran Alpinia valued at RM678, 680,000.00.

Currently MTDC is undertaking construction and completion of Earthworks and Infrastructure Works for Cadangan Pembangunan Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA) Phase 1 in Chuping, Perlis valued at RM184,165,418.10.

For the building works MTDC has been involved in the housing scheme at Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang, Ayer Keroh, Melaka and in Taman Sutera, Kajang, Selangor.

In addition to these mega projects, MTDC has several major projects in its portfolio including including its overseas project in India worth RM220 million. This project involved the upgrading of 53km highway to four lanes (NH 5) in the state of Andra Pradesh. MTDC is also a member of the Malaysia-China Hydro Consortium which was awarded the Bakun Hydroelectric Project. MTDC practices an active policy of continual improvement through its quality assurance, research and development and most importantly, regular training schemes at all levels within the company.
